Hello everyone,Looking for a support on creating Mobile Hotspot on Windows 10. Whenever I click on Mobile Hotspot submenu on Network & Internet option on settings, it shows this message: 'We can't set up mobile hotspot because your PC doesn't have an Ethernet, Wi Fi orcellular data connection.' But my Laptop is connected to internet with a 'Wimax Network Adapter' and that's why I am able to post this.I can also create a hotspot using a third-party software called 'Connectify Hotspot' and getting absolutely no problem to route that Wimax internet to my other Wi Fi devices. But I no longer want to use this third party software as it can cause malware attack while installing updates. Then, how can I create mobile hotspot using the built-in facilities? Please note: my Laptop is running in Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 14342. Thanks for a quick reply. The steps you suggested by providing in the link, i followed at the very first time.

But I couldn't even switch on the hotspot, then how could I apply the next steps? Please see the attached screenshot to find the problem.I don't have any other internet connection. Even I was able to route this connection in a previous version of windows (10 preview built, before upgrading on 29th July 2015). And still I can route it using Connectify-Me.

Then why can't route it through thebuilt-in facility of Windows 10's latest build? Please see the screenshot carefully and try to find the actual problem regarding the issue.Tanks again for your supportive reply. Hi John,Thank you for your response with the current update on the issue.

Sorry for the late reply. To assist you to better, please provided us the information below:. When you say that 'Even I was able to route this connection in a previous version', what is the build number in previous version of Windows 10? What is the current build number of Windows 10?I suggest you to follow the steps below to run Network adapter troubleshooter and also update wired network driver. Check if it helps.Method 1: I would suggest you to run the Network adapter troubleshooter and check if it helps.1. Click on Search bar.2. HI there,Thanks for your delayed reply.

But sorry to say, all the suggestions provided by you and the others are really very stereotyped that it fails to bring out an effective result. I have tried all these methods (As you suggested Method 1 and Method 2) as theprimary steps being advised by my friends. Then what's the specialty of this forum?Anyway, 'Even I was able to route this connection in a previous version' - it was in the end of 2014 or starting of 2015 (I couldn't recall the exact period), when I upgraded my 8.1 Pro OS to windows10 insider preview build. Unfortunately I forget the Build number and didn't stick on that Build for a long time even.

This is because that Build was full of bugs and made my system too slow to perform even the regular simple tasks. And the same thing happened again when I upgraded to Build 14342 and 14352. It again made my Laptop unusable at all.

That's why I've rolled back to 10 Pro again and now moving on 'November Update'. So,the Mobile Hotspot issue has become an off-season topic now.Still I would like to thank you for showing your interest on my question.Thank you very much. I have the same Problem:The Mobile Hotspot worked perfectly well until the Anniversary update Windows 10 came. From this very day I got the above error message.I have a PPPoE WAN Miniport Ethernet Internet connection which works otherwise fine and until the Anniversary update also worked fine with the Mobile Hotspot. Now it is not recognized any more:So this is a bug that came in with the Anniversary update and obviously some other types of Internet connections have this problem as well.

It is a pity, that since months we can't get help. I tried several fora already without success. I urgently need themobile hotspot for my Windowsphone! Please respond!
